Café Luna is now open! YAY! We opened 12/27 and have had some fabulous musicians and patron response in our early days. Please check the Information page for current hours and café information. We offer cocktails, coffee, and live music (Th-Su). We are working to situate our dessert menu and should have a full selection in the coming week.

Hey Everyone! Luna is oh-so close to opening. Construction and building occupancy have delayed our opening, unfortunately, but we are working hard to get occupancy this week so that we can open for New Year’s weekend! If all goes well, we should have occupancy by end of day Thursday 12/20 and then liquor license issuance on Friday 12/21. Hopefully then I can get all of my liquor orders in Friday evening then as well. I will try to keep the website updated with current information, but you always call if you would like additional information.

The space has really coming together. If you drive south on Water Street over the bridge to the 5th Ward, you may be able to see Luna’s red glow some evenings as I work to get things situated. The espresso machine has been tested - she is a beauty and makes a perfect crema espresso! All of my equipment is ready to go and my vendors eagerly await my word to send my orders over. I have picked some fabulous wines, liquors, champagnes, cocktails, desserts and coffee confections. We have a Luna blend coffee from Ancora Coffee Roasters and my Asian Blossom specialty drink is quickly becoming a hit among my friends and family.

I want to apologize to all of the bands that I have had to cancel as our delays have continued, and I want to thank them for being so patient and understanding. They are all a perfect fit for Luna and a key element to its success and ambiance. Thank you to: Ben Hans Trio, Caravan Gypsy Swing Ensemble, Stellanovas, John Price, Johnny Padilla, Vital Groove, Jack Grassel & Jill Jensen, Pontiac Blues, Duchie Rodgers, Evan Christian, Luis Diaz, and Jeff Kimber (KBS).

I’d also like to thank the following people and companies for really going above and beyond through all of the construction: Lynn Anderson (Roman Electric), Dave Finses (Total Comfort), Jeff Berther (D.A. Berther), John Raffenbeul (Advanced Register Solutions, ARS), Tim Panicucci, web designer extraordinaire, and of course the best architects ever – Brian Johnsen, Sebastian Schmaling, along with Nick Woods (Johnsen-Schmaling Architects).
